I decided to use Plasti Dip for the time being as my future plan is to anodize the G5 case. i also removed the latch and drilled 4 holes to screw it on the backplate instead of using epoxy.(i hope i will not have any problem putting back the lock mechanism for the cover)Īfter filing, I tried fitting in stiligFox's wiring plate and Laser Hive's Motherboard Tray using my old ssd. (Thanks for the help of my colleagues at work).

So I took the plunge and started my first mod.įirst, my idea was to make a seamless back plate to make it like an original case but decided to cut the back as clean as we could and put the back plate inside the G5 instead of fixing it in the outer part of the case.Īfter receiving the Laser Hive Full ATX Back Plate with PSU Holder, stiligFox's wiring plate and the motherboard tray, I immediately cut the back of my G5 with a Great Neck Rotary Tool. I always check websites and read the forums and have seen most of the creative works of the modders here and was really inspired on modding.

I really like how Apple made the Power Mac G5 and the Mac Pro.
